Join us on the farm for a hands-on rabbit butcher class focused on humane dispatch, clean processing, and confident home meat handling. This workshop walks participants through the entire process of harvesting a rabbit from start to finish, using calm, respectful, and practical methods you can replicate at home.
Participants will each work with their own rabbit and learn how to humanely dispatch, skin, eviscerate, portion, and package meat for the freezer. Instruction is provided step-by-step in a small-group setting to ensure safety, clarity, and confidence at every stage.
Whether you’re new to home meat processing or looking to gain experience with small livestock, this class is designed to remove the guesswork and give you the skills needed to responsibly process your own food.
After this class, you will be able to:
Humanely dispatch a rabbit with confidence and care
Safely skin and eviscerate without damaging the meat
Identify usable cuts and properly portion a rabbit
Package rabbit meat for freezer storage
Understand basic food-safety practices for home meat handling
